Here's what people are saying about The Hideaway Country Club. If you would like to add to this list, please Click Here to send us your comments about The Hideaway.

When we first visited the Hideaway Golf & Country club, we could feel a sense of community.  Even though we only spend four months a year at our vacation dream home, we have found a world of new friends.

This gated community is home to a picturesque 18-hole golf course, which keeps both Barb and I challenged each and every time we tee off.

Without doubt the Hideaway is appropriately named as it is just east of highway 41 where all the dining, shopping and services a homeowner desires are situated.  As we sit on our lanai overlooking the 18th hole this peaceful paradise, it is hard to remember all these amenities are so close.

We have visited many developments in South Florida, and we must say The Hideaway Golf and Country Club is the best value one will find for a gated golf and tennis community.

The Hideaway Country Club is a golf & tennis community located off Rte. 41 between the Edison & Bell Tower Malls, consisting of 496 two and three bedroom condos, divided into five villages, each with their own condo association. All with the lanai's overlooking the golf course.

The gem of the community is the par 67 golf course, which consists of two long dog-leg par 5's, seven varied par 3's, and nine narrow par 4's. The course is very challenging with water coming into play in some fashion on all 18 holes.

For golf-nuts, you cannot beat the Hideaway, as there are NO cart or trail fees. Most non-golf members and all golf members own their own carts. The golf membership is such that you are able to play every day with tee times on Mondays and Thursdays and morning and afternoon shotguns the other days. There are active men's and ladie's 18 and 9 hole associations. There is a fully staffed and stocked pro-shop with rental cars and clubs available.

The social scene is as busy

My wife & I were delighted when we first arrived at "The Hideaway Golf & Country Club". We were made to feel welcome immediately. Everything we had heard was true....a quiet, safe & close-knit golf community. And, a location second to none!

Just minutes away from all the sought after amenities. Our centrally located Club House is well maintained. It has an attractive bar & dining room to accommodate the dinners, socials  & dances held there. Our Pro Shop staff schedule weekly outings & tournaments for both the Men & Lady Golf Associations. Our resident-owned golf course will test your golf skills with it's narrow fairways and numerous bunkers & lakes.

"The Hideaway", in our opinion, is one of Lee County's best kept secrets because of it's affordability and location

Moved here for the golf, have played in both the 9 and 18 hole Ladie's Leagues.  Loved them both.  Still like to play 18 holes, but not crazy about getting up early, so at the present, it's the 9-hole League because it starts at 1:00 p.m.  Also enjoy the Village Outings, getting together once a month or so to play golf, share a meal, and catch up on any news we might have missed  in our own Villages.  (There are 5  Villages here, each named after a famous golf course.)  There are numerous groups who play on a regular basis, like Mafia, Skins, Fun Days, Mixers for leagues, ad infinitem.  One of the very best things about the Hideaway Country Club is that there are only 496 units here, and even during high season we can play several times a week should we choose to do that.  (Some of us play a couple of times a week and I swear thre are some golfers who play 9 or 10 days a week!)

The Hideaway Restaurant quickly became almost as important as the golf!  Enjoyed by me and my friends on a weekly basis.  Handy for lunch before or after golf...and the Tuesday night dinners with friends has been one of those things that keeps us in touch, no matter how many different directions we go...some play golf, some tennis, some bridge, some Bingo, some Euchre (I hope I spelled that correctly), some poker, and so on, all those different storkes for different folks...and then we meet on Tuesday night (often with great entertainment) and hear about all our friends...often getting to table hop and talk for a minute with friends we don't see every day.

The entire staff, from business, to golf, to maintenance, to restaurant, to guards, are respectful, helpful, friendly and generally do a bangup job.., if not, they've found employment someplace else!  Like Mr. Dudas (Club Prez) always tells me, don't hold back, Vic...tell us how you really feel about that.  So, of course, I do.

Being born and raised in a very small town...The Hideaway is perfect for me, the location can't be beat...I mean it's close to everything!  Still it's so secluded and quiet, the critters I've seen here include fox, gators, possum, coons, otters, Bald Eagles, egrets, wood storks, owls, woodpeckers, (we'd enjoy a few less of those) mockingbirds, pine and palm wrens (ask me, I'll tell you how you tell them apart, even tho they look exactly alike).  The list goes on...Best critters here are your friends and neighbors...always ready  to make airport trips for you, haul you to an appointment with your Doctor, jump start your car...carry something heavy up to your condo...share joy and sorrow...What do YOU need?  Pretty sure you could find it at The Hideaway.

Prior to retirement, we had looked at various clubs before coming to visit friends at the Hideaway.  We learned that it is the Best Kept Secret....affordable rates, with all the features of a high-end course.  You will not find a more dedicated and harder working greens superintenent than Joe Dennis.  The staff is courteous and accommodating, making everyone feel welcome.  It is more than just a country club as it offers a very desirable life style.  It is an ideal place to host family and friends for a casual brunch or private party.  We take pride in the relaxed lifestyle and welcoming atmosphere.  Friendships can begin with a handshake on the first tee, in the clubhouse, by the pool, on the tennis court, or at the bridge, euchre, and poker tables.  We never have to worry about getting a tee time and the club caters to golf.  There are village scrambles, holiday scrambles, ladies and men's events and club championships.  It is a unique place with a gated security that makes you feel secure.  We are only about two stop lights away from grocery stores, shopping malls, churches, and restaurants.  I don't think we could have chosen a finer club as we have met many friendly and fun-loving people.
